The Mario Lemieux Foundation Turns 30!
Happy new year to all of our Lemieux Foundation friends and family! Typically, a new year is a time to look forward, identify goals and embark on new beginnings. While we continue to plan for upcoming projects and enhancements to our current programs in 2023, we also will be recapping the past three decades as an organization because, this year, the Mario Lemieux Foundation turns 30!
The years really do fly by, and we don’t always get the proper amount of time to celebrate our accomplishments, nor the donors and partners that help make them possible. So all through 2023 we will be recognizing the events, the people and the places that have become pivotal in our fight against cancer and efforts to provide excellent patient care to the Pittsburgh community and beyond. We highly encourage you to share your story if you have ever been impacted by a Lemieux Foundation program, or if you have ever fundraised, participated in an event or supported our mission in any way.

We look forward to commemorating the many special people and fundraisers that, in 30 years, have raised over $37 million for cancer research and patient care, established 43 (and counting!) Austin’s Playrooms and helped close to two million families.
