Thank-you to The Mario Lemieux Foundation

Dear Mario and Foundation,

As a local hockey player in the [PIHL+ PAHL + ACHA] and lifelong avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan, I am most grateful for being the recipient of a autographed puck by Mario himself. It has lifted my spirit and desire to return to the ice.

As your foundation already knows I was recently diagnosed with a Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma (aggressive t-cell), and for me it has ended my freshmen season short at the University of Pittsburgh Club Hockey Team for chemotherapy treatment. As for Mario, his season in 1993 was sidelined by a Hodgkins lymphoma, but still miraculously claimed the Art Ross over Buffalo’s Pat Lafontaine.

For both Mario and I hockey has been our a big part of our lives and your gift to me means so much more because of it.

I can’t thank you enough for this!

Sincerely,

Jonathan
